How Can severe Cough Along With Sore Throat Be Treated?
I have had a really tough cold for a week and half. The symptums are massive mucus generation, post nasal drip, sore throat, extensive coughing, laringistis, and some headache. I went to my doctor and he prescribed Amoxicillin, and codine cough syrup for sleep at night. I started this treatment last Tuesday. Now, my coughing is producing green chunks and a mild fever of 99F. What do you suggest?
You may also need a mucolytic to help break up the mucus so that it can be more easily expelled. Paracetamol would help with the slight fever.
If there is no slight improvement or there is any worsening with the antibiotics by day 3 then you should see your doctor because alternative antibiotic may be needed.
I hope this helps
